In a high profile battle for control of an on-air Washington DC metro TV station, (involving almost the entire list of Washingtonian Magazine's top bankruptcy attorneys) Judge Stephen S. Mitchell of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District
of Virginia, Case No. 95-12919 made the following statement :
"… Mr. Voutsas' services were necessary and benefited the estate...quite
frankly, without his testimony, I don't believe I could ever have made a
finding that the Debtors plan was feasible and, without his testimony, the
objection filed by Home Shopping Network and Silver King Broadcasting would
probably have been sustained. And what would have resulted would have been the
confirmation of the Creditor's Committee's plan…"
